CIPPS and SZIDI Signed MOU for Future Cooperation

Center for International Public Policy Studies visited the Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute from February 22nd to 25th, 2017.

President Naoki Tanaka, senior fellow Yan He, senior fellow Yoshihiro Hiraoka and the deputy secretary general Tsuyoshi Okamoto from the Center for International Public Policy Studies in Japan visited the Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute from February 22nd to 25th, 2017 on a research project pertaining hi-tech industry in Shenzhen. President Tanaka attended the 3rd Dameisha China Innovation Forum as distinguished guest speaker last November.



During their visit on 22nd, President Tanaka and senior fellows from CIPPS shared their observations and understanding of past economic development in Shenzhen as well as the city’s economic prospects in the context of changing external landscapes in the close-door discussion with President Zhang, Ling Nan, executive director of academic committee, and Huijian Tang, vice President of SZIDI. With keen interests and expertise in economic policy, the two think tanks decide to exert joint efforts, and contribute to the wider discussion of socioeconomic policy issues in the region. President Tanaka of CIPPS and President Zhang of SZIDI thus signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote mutual understanding and reciprocal cooperation in the area of socioeconomic policy researches through arrangements of bilateral visits, exchange of information, launch of joint research project and conferences and the establishment of potential trilateral communications mechanism among research institutions and think tanks in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Tokyo.


On February 23rd and 24th, the team from CIPPS and Mr. Nan, Mr. Tang of SZIDI visited and held roundtables with 5 leading hi-tech companies and industrial parks headquartered in Shenzhen including Tencent, Han’s Laser, and DJI.

About the Center for International Public Policy Studies
