    China Reform Report 2018

    Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute (SZIDI) released the China Reform Report 2018 in May 2018. Entitled New Era, New Challenge, New Opportunity, this year’s report evaluates thirteen major aspects of the reform process in 2018, went through the series of major events in 2018 and offers five policy recommendations to tackle and challenges unveiled in the past year and seize new opportunities.

    China Reform Report 2016

    Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute (SZIDI) released the China Reform Report 2016 on April 7th, 2017 in Beijing. President of the SZIDI Zhenhua Mao addressed the opening speech followed by chairmanof SZIDI SipingZhang, releasing and synthesizing the China Reform Report 2016. Vice president of SZIDI Jianhui Tang, and contributors of this year’s report, former director of the department of economic system reform of the national development and reform commission Jingyuan Kong, professor of the Chinese Academy of Governance Yaotong Xu, professor of school of law of Beijing Institute of Technology Xin Xu, deputy director of the national economic research institute of China Reform Foundation Xiaolu Wang, secretary-general of the academic committee of the national development and reform commission Yansheng Zhang, attended the press conference.

    China Reform Report 2015

    In November 2013, the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China reviewed and approved of the CPC Central Committee Decision on Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reforms and proposed the overarching target of comprehensively deepening reforms. This consists of perfecting and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics and promoting the modernization of national governance systems and governance capabilities. It also includes drawing up an all-encompassing roadmap to comprehensively deepening reforms in six basic areas of economics, politics, culture, society, ecological civilization and the development of the party, all of which should revolve around the overarching target of modernizing the national governance system and national governance capabilities. The decisions of the Third Plenary Session could be said to be a major component of the national governance strategies proposed by the CPC Central Committee led by Xi Jinping as its General Secretary. It is also the comprehensive plan and top-down design for China’s comprehensively deepening reforms for the next decade, and marked the beginning to China’s quest for modernizing its national governance systems and capabilities.
