Academician Wang Jianyu Talked about Quantum Technology and Scientific Innovation in China - Science and Technology Innovation Lecture Series Launched
On the morning of April 15, the Science and Technology Innovation Lecture Series jointly sponsored by Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute, Boyan Graduate School of Business and Shenzhen Enterprise Confederation was officially launched.
The Science and Technology Innovation Lecture Series is an open forum of high standards, focusing on cutting-edge technology trends around the world, national strategic emerging industries in China, and scientific and technological innovation topics that are concerned by all sectors of society. To meet the needs of industrial development in Shenzhen, the lecture serices invites Academicians and scientists from all around the world who have made outstanding contributions in scientific and technological innovation to share the developments, trends and prospects in related fields, in order to promote in-depth communication of scientific research and industrial development and enhance the technological innovation atmosphere in Shenzhen and even the whole country. The lectures are given in Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute which is located in Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Zone for Technology and Innovation - the forefront of technological innovation in Shenzhen.
The first show of the Lecture Series invited Mr. Wang Jianyu, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, former dean of the Shanghai branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and deputy chief designer and commander-in-chief of Micius- the world's first quantum science experiment satellite, to give a speech on the theme of Quantum Technology: Innovation Trends and Industrialization Prospects. In his speech, Wang briefly introduced the progress that China has already made in Quantum technology and explained the factors contributing to the success of Micius. In terms of the application of technology, he believes that since 1920s quantum mechanics has been influencing many subjects and in the near future the technology could be used in more areas and greatly change people’s life.
The following is the outline of the speech:
1. The mysterious quantum world and the properties of photons.
2. The pilot project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences – Micius, quantum science experiment satellite.
3. Performance and experimental results of Micius, domestic and international responses.
4. How high technology in China develops from following to leading, taking the success of quantum satellite as example
