On the eve of the Third Dameisha China Innovation Forum, Mr. Wenzhong Zhou, secretary general of the Boao Forum for Asia and former vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, paid a special visit to Shenzhen Innovation and Development Institute (SZIDI). The SZIDI and the Boao Forum for Asia agree to seek further cooperation opportunities, and share resources, with the aim to contribute to the national opening up strategy and economic reform.

Mr. Siping Zhang introduced in detail the First and Second Dameisha Forum and the preparation and visions of the third Dameisha Forum. Themed on “Innovation and the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”, this year’s forum features keynote speeches and also 7 special parallel sessions, namely, China’s Reform Forum, China Economist Forum, China’s Financial Reform Forum, China’s Economy and Global Views Forum, Innovation in Science and Technology Forum, Legal Innovation Forum, and Social Innovation Forum. Over one hundred Chinese and foreign experts on China’s reform and innovation will join the Dameisha Forum this year.

Secretary general Wenzhong Zhou spoke highly of the Dameisha Forum and is looking forward to the third Dameisha Forum. He believes that the Dameisha Forum’s commitment to promoting reform and innovation in China and its goal of “modernization of governance” are of great significance. With the success of the past two forums, the Dameisha Forum has exerted increasing influences home and abroad, and contributed to the country’s reform and innovation agenda. The Boao Forum representative will attend this year’s forum.

Chairman Siping Zhang of SZIDI pointed out that the Boao Forum has been the most influential international high-level forum in China for more than a decade. It has drawn worldwide attention, accumulated rich experiences and become a significant platform for Chinese leaders to launch major economic, political and diplomatic and social events. Despite its initial success, the Dameisha Forum is now only entering its third year. There is much to be improved. Secretary General Zhou and Chairman Zhang both agreed that further cooperation between the two great forums is necessary. During the meeting, they identified future cooperation methods, including resources sharing, and special sub-forums dedicated to each other during the two forums.
